I value privacy as much as you do. Hence, I strive to refrain from collecting any personal data. Any information obtained from your device, such as location data, is neither retained nor stored by me. However, the third-party services I utilize for this application may collect such data. In this Privacy Policy, I aim to provide comprehensive details about the collected data and the potential access of third parties. Tourder prioritizes privacy; I do not gather personal information. Furthermore, when processing sensitive data (e.g., location), I take extensive measures to ensure its security. This Privacy Policy is effective from November 21, 2023.
I'm Giulio Gabrieli. You can reach me at tourderapp@gmail.com or find my personal contacts at www.giuliogabrieli.it.
This Privacy Policy pertains to the Tourder app and website (tourder.app). For simplicity, I refer to both as "services" in this document. Some third-party services possess unique privacy policies. In such cases, the respective service's policy supersedes.
Ideally, I wouldn't collect any information. However, the service operates as follows: Initially, your device's GPS retrieves your location. The coordinates are converted to a city name using a geocoding package (https://pub.dev/packages/geocoding), based on Android's reverse geocoding (https://developer.android.com/reference/android/location/Geocoder). This process uses your exact location (coordinates) only once. Subsequently, the city name is passed to OpenStreetMap (https://www.openstreetmap.org/) via the Overpass API (https://www.overpass-api.de/) to acquire a list of points of interest (POIs) near you. These services access your location in city name format, not your precise coordinates. Finally, each POI is queried on Wikipedia via the Wikipedia API (https://en.wikipedia.org/api/) to gather images and information about the POIs. Consequently, these services may access your location, IP address, and device information.
None. However, third parties might potentially collect certain information from you.
Your location data, as mentioned in point 3, is used to provide you with nearby POIs. Additionally, I utilize your device's language information to offer Wikipedia content in your preferred language, if available.
Please refer to the privacy policies of the aforementioned third parties for a better understanding of how they process your data.
Device permissions: Mobile platforms have permission systems governing specific device data, notifications (e.g., contacts, pictures, location services, push notifications, and advertising identifiers). You can modify your device settings to consent to or deny the collection or processing of relevant information or the display of corresponding notifications. However, blocking access to your location might affect the app's functionality. Uninstall: You can halt all information collection by uninstalling the app using your device's standard uninstall process.
I do not collect your information. To evade this issue entirely, I've chosen not to collect any data.
As I'm working on this app during my free time, initially building it for personal use, I'm exploring new services, APIs, and libraries. As various services may have different policies, this Privacy Policy might undergo changes over time. We'll notify you before any significant changes take effect so that you can review them.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, feel free to contact me at tourderapp@gmail.com.
